Shell Eco marathon Eco Runner 3

The Shell Eco-marathon was held once again this year. In this race, the European finals of which took place in the German city of Lausitz from May 26 to 28: Students from all over Europe were challenged to drive their own vehicle as far as possible on 1 liter of Euro Unleaded petrol (or its equivalent).

Van Dijk 3DE supported the Eco-Runner Delft Team with the engineering and realization of a super aerodynamic monocoque made of carbon-composite materials. 3DE cooperated with the specialized partners Nedcam and VABO Composites. The aim is to use the hydrogen-powered EcoRunner3 to beat the Dutch record by driving 3000 kilometers on 1 converted unit, which is more than 750 kilometers more than the current record. And if the results of the wind tunnel test are correct, a bid can even be made for the world record!
